Experience a vibrant afternoon of cross-cultural fusion led by award-winning composer and oud player Josh Kaye. This NYC-based ensemble performs original music shaped by a wide range of traditions—from Mizrahi and Sephardi folk to the broader musical heritage of the Mediterranean. Drawing on the eclectic backgrounds of its members, the group creates a sound that’s distinct, genre-defiant, and full of rhythmic energy and melodic nuance. Their performances blend ancient modes with modern grooves, offering a fresh take on global music that’s both rooted and innovative.

The ensemble has appeared at major festivals including the Brooklyn International Music Festival, the Greek Jewish Festival, and the Nyack Jazz Festival, and their music was featured in the animated short film Ariel by Conor Mcfinn. Their debut album, Dávka, released in 2023, introduced audiences to their bold, boundary-crossing style. A second album, Sababa, is slated for release in late 2025, promising even more adventurous compositions and sonic surprises. This concert offers a chance to hear their dynamic sound live—where tradition meets experimentation, and every note tells a story.

“This mystically equipped musical train is on a perfect roll.”
