Violinist Daniel Kurganov has been described as a musician of “smoldering intensity” and “ingratiatingly idiomatic violinistic personality” (Fanfare Magazine). Synthesizing values of different artistic traditions, Daniel has emerged as a unique musical voice. 2018 saw his debut album release with pianist Constantine Finehouse on the Spice Classics label, which was met with universally positive reviews.

In November 2021, Orchid Classics released Daniel’s album Rhythm and the Borrowed Past with pianist Constantine Finehouse, featuring world premiere recordings of the music of Lera Auerbach and Richard Beaudoin, as well as works by Olivier Messiaen and John Cage.

A passionate teacher, Daniel founded the Boston Violin Intensive and runs an educational YouTube channel with more than 37,000 subscribers. Daniel is featured monthly in The Strad magazine, writing different topics surrounding the craft of violin playing, and was voted “Best of The Strad 2021.”

In 2022, the duo will release a unique recording of the complete Brahms Violin Sonatas, pairing a 1695 Guarneri violin with original 19th-c pianos in partnership with Reuning & Son Violins and the Frederick Piano Collection.

“Kurganov gives a tour de force performance, superbly impassioned.”
